At Black Hills Workshop, located in Rapid City, SD, we value quality and providing quality services to those we support. Our Resource and Support Department works with each department to meet their resource and training needs and also offers this training to the families of the people we support. Below is a list of available training: 

Ongoing Training

Support for Persons Served or Teams

• Behavioral Supports
  Functional analysis

  Positive behavior support

  Develop/revise behavior support plans

  Finding and developing adaptive supports

  Training and mentoring with new support staff

• Support Staff Coverage (leave of absence, maternity leave, etc.)
• Coordinate educational events (Native American cultural month, dual sensory loss, self advocacy conference, etc.)
• Teaching public transportation
• Developing Leadership skills and opportunities for leadership participation with persons supported
• Accident reconstruction
• Design training based on department specific needs
• Develop training resources or materials based on department specific needs
• Develop strategies for increasing productivity
