The Suzie Cappa Center for Art Expression and Enjoyment was established in December 2001 in memory of Suzie Cappa who received services from the Workshop. The Center is a vital and exciting place for individuals with disabilities to discover and appreciate the influence of art in their lives, and to develop and nurture the artist within.

At the Cappa Center, volunteers and employees  teach classes in wide variety of artistic mediums including photography, calligraphy, collage, music, quilting, oil and watercolor painting, batik, and sculpture. People can view the schedule of events and sign up on the agency's computer system, and participation can be easily tracked.

Funding for the Center was originally established through a family trust and memorial contributions. Ongoing funding comes from donations from individuals, and grants from area organizations. We have also hosted artists-in residence, Bob Miller, Mary Wipf, and Ann Taecker with support from the South Dakota Arts Council, provided with funds from the State of South Dakota, through the Department of Education and Cultural Affairs and the National Endowment for the Arts.
