Employement Resources

The Elderly area is where the emphasis in programming is moved from a vocational emphasis to an emphasis in the area of leisure education. The intent is to switch from a highly structured program focused on goal-oriented activities to relatively unstructured activities, leaving participation and involvement largely to the individual. The program is designed to offer seniors experiences that will help in the transition to retirement-type programs in the community. Program components contain a variety of daily activities, including health and sensory awareness, recreation and leisure activities, skill and alertness enhancement, socialization, and individual or group interactions.

Older people feel comfortable in surroundings in which they feel a natural atrraction and which contain things that are familiar. "Aging in place" is a phenomenon that may contribute to prolonged independence and an enhanced quality of life.

Our goal is to provide personal support built around a full schedule of daily activities for older adults. These supports are designed to respect each person's history, desires, and preferences. Our focuses are on areas such as expanding or preserving personal control, maintaining personal connections and relationships, as well as broadening and strengthening options for leisure time.

Activities will focus on things such as maintaining a physically fit body through regular exercises, creating or strengthening a personal social network through a wide range of social activities, and expanding and exploring personal interests and gratifications through a variety of leisure experiences, as well as maintaining daily living activities.
